The Elk Ridge Lodge is located in the tri-state area of Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee and Northern Georgia. It is situated precisely on the borderline of Tennessee and North Carolina. The driveway entrance is in Tennessee and the lodge itself is in North Carolina. The Georgia border is only 15 miles south of the lodge on TN 68.

The trip to the Elk Ridge Lodge is an exciting adventure. Regardless of routing, or chosen means of travel, most roads run through places like the Great Smokey and Blue Ridge Mountains and the Cherokee and Nantahala National Forests past gorgeous lakes, rushing river rapids and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

One of the best things about traveling the tri-state area, is that there is usually very little traffic and no congestion. There is also very little commercialization throughout the region.

The physical address of the lodge is 476 Elkhorn Drive, Murphy NC 28906. However; the lodge itself is 25 miles from downtown Murphy.

Unfortunately, Mapquest or Google do not recognize the proper address. A search for Farner TN will reveal maps that reflect a destination within 1 1/2 miles of the Elk Ridge Lodge. The lodge is entrance is right at the point where Appalachian Dam Road most nearly touches the TN and NC borders approximately 1/2 mile prior to actually crossing the border. The entrance is clearly visible from the road.

1. From US 74 and US 64 in Murphy NC travel west on US 64 approx. 8 miles to;
2. Right onto NC 294. Go 13.3 miles to the Tennessee state line. NC 294 becomes
TN 123 at state line.
3. Continue on TN 123 for 1.2 miles to;
4. Right turn onto TN 68 toward Farner TN.
5. Continue on TN 68 for 4.0 miles to;
6. Right on Appalachian Dam Road.
7. Go 1.3 miles to the entrance to The Elk Ridge Lodge on the right.
8. Turn right onto Elkhorn Drive at the large, log, roof covered gate house and
follow the road to the top of the mountain and The Elk Ridge Lodge on the right.

1. Chattanooga, TN
2. Knoxville, TN
3. Atlanta, GA
4. Ashville, NC

Directions from Chattanooga TN to The Elk Ridge Lodge.

1. I-24 east to I-75 north to east on US 74 toward Cleveland TN to:
2. East on US 74 (Cleveland bypass) to US 64 and US 74 toward Ocoee TN
and the Cherokee National Forest to Ducktown TN to:
3. North on TN 68 to Farner TN. to:
4. Right on Appalachian Dam Road. Go 1.3 miles to the entrance to The Elk
Ridge Lodge on the right.
5. Turn right onto Elkhorn Drive at the large, log, roof covered gatehouse
and follow the road to the top of the mountain and the Elk Ridge Lodge
on the right.

Directions from Knoxville TN to The Elk Ridge Lodge.

1. I-75 South to exit 40, Take TN 68 south through Tellico Plains to Farner
TN to;
2. Left on Appalachian Dam Road. Go 1.3 miles to the entrance to The
Elk Ridge Lodge on the right.
3. Turn right onto Elkhorn Drive at the large, log, roof covered gatehouse
and follow the road to the top of the mountain and The Elk Ridge Lodge
on the right.

Directions from Atlanta GA to The Elk Ridge Lodge.

1. I-75 North to Marietta GA bear right on I-575 North which turns into
I-515.
2. Continue on I-515 to Blue Ridge GA to;
3. Left on Blue Ridge Drive traveling north through McCaysville, GA to
4. Left on TN 68 North at Copperhill TN to Farner TN to;
5. Right on Appalachian Dam Road 1.3 miles to the entrance to the Elk
Ridge Lodge on the right.
6. Turn right onto Elkhorn Drive at the large, log, roof covered gatehouse
and follow the road to the top of the mountain and The Elk Ridge Lodge
on the right.

Directions from Asheville NC to The Elk Ridge Lodge.

1. I-26 North to I-40 West to;
2. US- 23/74 at Waynesville to;
3. US-23/441 at Dillsboro to;
4. US-64 at Franklin through Murphy to;
5. Right on NC 294 for 13.3 miles which becomes TN 123 at Tennessee
border. Continue for 1.2 miles to;
6. Right on TN 68. Continue 4.0 miles to Farner TN.
7. Right at Farner TN onto Appalachian Dam Road and go 1.3 miles to the
entrance to The Elk Ridge Lodge on the right.
8. Turn right onto Elkhorn Drive at large, log, roof covered gatehouse and
follow the road to the top of the mountain and The Elk Ridge Lodge on
the right.
